His only regret is that he couldn’t continue in an international level, since he had take care of his family. He prays for a son so that the legacy could continue and win a gold medal to the country. But when God blesses him with girls, his dreams are shattered. As years pass by Mahavir draws his interest away from the sport continues his quite life. But things change when he finds his girls Geetha and Babitha beat up couple of boys in quarrel, he decides to train them as wrestlers as they have the grit in them. Though his wife and the people of his town don’t approve of this Mahavir is determined. How Mahavir makes his daughters into champions is the rest of the story.
Though in the beginning it looks as just as one man’s crazy ambition, Dangal proves to be more than that in this true story. It touches social issues and shows how indifferent the sporting federation is towards minor sports. Aamir khan’s dedication towards his character is unimaginable, and new faces Fatima and Sanya perform faithfully to their roles. Even the young Zaira and Suhani who come as young Geetha and Babitha steal our hearts. Sakshi Tanwar though has very less screen time, makes the most of it. All Technical depts adds quality and grace to the film , Soundtrack rises the adrenaline and was subtle wherever needed. The only drawback was the duration which shows in the second half, which could have been reduced. Still Dangal is becomes second highest grossing film on opening day. Dangal gets 7/10
The movie starts as container vehicle full of cash is apprehended by the Asst commissioner of police Tamizh Selvan ( Jaggapathi Babu)The cash given back to the state , the commissioner is promoted to Deputy commissioner. Enter Arjun ( Vishal ) comes new to town just to seduce Divya (Tamannaah) and make her fall in love with him. Incidentally Divya is also the DC Tamizh Selvan ‘s sister. What is Arjun real motives do why is he targeting them is the rest of the story.
Director Suraaj doesn’t have great repetition from his earlier films and it isn’t going the change after this film too. Just having a content for 20 mins of real film time ,he goes round and round with a stupid comedy scenes and mindless drama. With decent releases this year Vishal finishes with this complete nonsense. Soori embarrasses himself to the max, as Tamannaah who gave a decent performance in Devi, doesn’t do much. Vadivelu who gives a comeback through this film, manages to give us a few laughs but nothing new. Overall Kaththi Sandai fights with a blunt knife. Be sure to keep distance from this film. I give it 2/10
Shivaji alias Siva ( Vikram Prabhu) is a cab driver in Puducherry, being an orphan himself he is closely attached to 10 year old yazhini, who lives with her widowed mother. When all is well tragedy strikes as young Yazhini is diagnosed with tumour in her brain and needed immediate operation. When Siva is desperate for money For the operation , he is swindled by a counterfeit gang . How Siva gets back his money and saves Yazhini is the rest of the story.
Veera Shivaji is most amateurish film made this year , it fails in every aspect in the film. The acting is very weak, direction is weaker and falls apart. Shamili looks like a glamourised zombie and off sync all the way. Veera Shivaji will disappear even before you have second thoughts of seeing it in theatres.I give it 1/10
