Most expected release since its teaser was Kamal Hassan’s film Vikram directed by Lokesh kanagaraj. The Story line starts very similar to Kaithi , as 2 tonnes of raw substance to produce Cocaine is found by a special agent and he hides it in an unused government armoury. Unfortunately, the Agent, his Father and his known associates are killed by a masked gang which makes the law enforcement and drug mafia enraged. Finally an elite task force headed by Amar( Fahadh Faasil) is brought in to find the killers and the confiscated raw substance. What Amar and his team doesn’t know is that there is huge play which is going beneath them which only unfolds as they dig deep through this whole operation.
After Kaithi and Master, Lokesh kanagaraj takes us in a yet another roller coaster ride with Vikram, with a star studded cast and huge performances. Kamal who has lots of fan boy moments, left the audience screaming in the theatres. But Fahadh Faasil was the stealer of the whole show with his brilliant performance. Kamal hassan actually has very little screen time in the first half and lets Lokesh take command of the story and screenplay. Though things might look very similar to Kaithi’s structure, Lokesh still holds it together to deliver a full length action drama to you. Anirudh’s best this year, he is becoming better in each of his ventures in 2022, his BGM still rocks you as leave the theatre. Kudos for the whole team. Vikram gets 8/10
