Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts and joins hands with KE Gnanavelraja’s Studio Green to introduce composer GV Prakash Kumar in the lead in comedy horror film Darling. The film revolves between Kathir( GV Prakash) , Kumaran ( Balasaravanan) and Nisha(Nikki Galrani) who decide to commit suicide as they are frustrated and depressed of their individual lives . They plan to this in their friend’s house situated in the outskirts of the city. On the way they meet Athisayaraj ( Karunas) who also joins them as he is also determined to end his life. The minute they land in the house, nothing goes right for them and Nisha gets possessed by an evil spirit. How they deal with this evil spirit forms the rest of the story.
The film which was remade from a Telugu blockbuster “Prema Katha Chitram” fails to impress the audience. Even though GV Prakash and Nikki Galrani give a decent performance, repetitive comedy scenes make the audience yawn with boredom. Few scenes brings laughter and the scene with “Naan Kadavul” Rajendran is one of them. Music was ok but none of the songs tend to stay in the mind. A very predictable story and amateur editing makes it even worse. I give it 2/10.
