When his mother leaves his father (Naseer) and him , young Gautam is deeply affected and shapes him into a person who hates women and love. He is even mad with his father and stops talking to him.He however finds friendship and is inseparable with his friends Shri(Vinay) and Baby(Santhanam) . They grow up together and own a production studio and live life-like there is no tomorrow. One night after getting drunk they even decide and make a pledge to each other that they wouldn’t get married and live as bachelors forever.Soon things change and Shri and Baby decide to get married and their friendship breaks and Gautham is left alone with Priya (Trisha) an AD Co-ordinator who becomes close to him. Whether Gautham Falls in Love and gets back to his friends forms the rest of the story.
A Film finally without any violence and cheap vulgarness, which also made me sit through out without boredom was Endredrum punnagai. Ahmed the director gives us a feel good film close to perfection. Jeeva has taken a matured character and has done it very well too. Santhanam’s fans will be happy to know that he is back to full form and he just carries the first half of the film in his shoulders.Vinay also has done well in his comeback film. Trisha and Andrea play very subtle characters and do not overdo their roles.Mathi the cinematographer has done an extremely good job, his compositions and frames will be remembered. Only due to some blanks in the screenplay and lagging second half, the film gets lost. Harris has supported only in two songs and is unheard in the rest of the film. A good clean film by the team. i give the film 6/10

Hobbit : The Desolation of Smaug
The most awaited second instalment of the Hobbit series released this Friday, as expected ‘The Desolation of Smaug ‘ continues the journey of the pack lead by their wizard leader . We see them still chased by the orcs, which lead them to a skin changer, then tortured by giant spiders and briefly imprisoned by elf. They finally reach the mountain and face the dragon.
The Desolation of Smaug was very enjoyable and exciting for me, I thought how would the director keep the audience engaged for the 2hr and 41mins. But it was a thrilling and a fun ride through out the movie. The barrel ride in the raging river fighting the orcs was just amazing and choreographed to perfection. The film also had its funny and romantic moments which was blended evenly in the film. The responsibility of Gandalf ( ian mckellen), the brave dwarf king Thorin (Richard Armitage) who had to prove himself to his kind, changes Bilbo baggins ( Martin freeman) goes through with the possession of the ring and the rebirth of Sauron the Necromancer , all the elements were well scripted without a drag. And finally the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch for the dragon remind me of Sir Sean Connery in Dragonheart, which was matched to the character of the beast. Overall even though I was disappointed that the movie ended, I still left me eager for the final part next year. I give the film 9/10 .
The movie begins with a riot triggered by the law minister among the law students, just to prove his point to the college administration. The riot ends ugly and three of the students end up dead.the police and authorities overlook the incident as the concerned accused is a powerful minister. In comes our hero Gunasekaran (Vikram Prabhu) who decides to take justice in his hands and plans to bring down the minister. How he brings the minister down and how does he gets affected by this forms the rest of the story.
This is second film for both the director Saravanan Engeyum Eppodhum fame and the hero Vikram prabhu who impressed in Kumki .The film starts with the steady pace, but drags as it moves on. A simple plot was overly dramatized for whole duration of the film. New face Surabi has a great smile and performs close to the character but nothing new.Vikram Prabhu has to work on the emotional scenes ,he seems to be always under stage fear in most of the crucial scenes . Music doesn’t interfere in the film much , it’s almost unheard but for one song in the film . But the director has given a clean film with zero vulgarity and unnecessary violence.I give the film 4/10 .
Kalyana Samayal Saadham
A Modern day comedy drama of the chaos which happens in all Arranged marriages forms the story of Kalyana Samayal Saadham . Raghu (Prassana) and Meera (Lekha Washington) are two youngsters paired by their parents through matrimony sites. On their first meeting they like each other and are soon engaged. They become close and fall in love with each other when they find out that Raghu has a problem of erectile dysfunction . what happens next, forms the rest of the story.
Both the director Prassana and actor Prassana should be praised to take on a subject like this and deliver it as a film with humor and sensitivity. The strength of the film is its cast, every character delivered in the film. Lekha and Prassana have performed well in their lead roles.A special applause to Delhi Ganesh who acts as Lekha’s father. Dialogues too were well written but often reminded me of Crazy Mohan ‘s work , but was surprised when suddenly he too appeared as a character in the film. The film has number of beautiful written scenes but collectively drags to the end.The duration could have been much lesser and repeated scenes of Prassana being tortured by his friends could have been avoided. The music always reminded me of some other films music throughout and was not in sync with the film at all. In the end Kalayana Samyal Sadam in which Kaaikarigalum was Pramaadam. I give it 5/10 .
Four orphans Saravanan (Arulnidhi) , Pazhani, Senthil, Aarumugam are petty thieves who will do anything for money .They live like brothers and do not care for anything in life. Their acts of thievery make them prime targets to the cops and enemies to all. When Saravanan (Arulnidhi) falls in love with Meenakshi (Poorna) daughter of a Local money lender Kanthuvatti Rajendran (Jayaprakash) which puts their lives at stake.
I liked the previous films of Arulnidhi , “Vamsam” and “Mouna guru” which was critically acclaimed and giving him positive marks. His lazy acting and subtle actions were different from others. This film though puts him in a different role all together and he has put a sincere effort for the character. Poorna’s role starts of very casually but ends in a dramatic way which shows that she can take in serious roles when the opportunity is given. The Debutant Director starts interestingly but losses his way in the middle. The so called love between lead actors is not convincing to hold the act together. Arul nidhi has to work more on emotional scenes and his dancing skills. Although there wasn’t a dull moment in the first half, it could have been faster. The second half was very slow and a long climax with an unexpected twist (which didn’t carry till the end) was disappointing. This could have been avoided with some crisp editing and a well-planned screenplay. I give it 4/10
